Beauty care does not simply stop at your face or body alone, the legs are essentially important when you are getting ready to hit the beach!
Get your gams polished and ready for gorgeous beachwear and sandals with these dead easy tips.
1. Go Bare
When summer arrives, there’s no hiding underneath those nylon stockings any longer!For the ladies, it’s time to bring out the razors, darlings!
The most ideal time to shave your legs would be during your shower. Alternatively, soak your legs in warm water for a few minutes first. This is to allow the heat from the water to open up the hair follicles, softens and relaxes the leg hairs. While shaving, avoid putting too much pressure against your skin. Shave against the direction of hair growth. After you are done, rinse legs thoroughly before using towel to pat dry gently.
Remember to moisturize after shaving :)
For the sensitive ones, its advisable to stop exfoliation over the area you want smoothed for at least 2-3 days. A good razor are definitely your best bet where less pressure would be placed on your delicate skin. Shaving products that contain irritants like alcohol, menthol and peppermint are a strict NO-NO!
Some simple scrubs you could make at home, super easy and economical!
1) use 2 Table spoons of Yoghurt + Chopped fresh Tomatoes + 1/4 granulated sugar for smooth and soft skin!
2) mix 1 ripe banana + 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar + 1/4 teaspoon of your fav essential oil for gentle exfoliation & skin tightening
3) create a scrub with equal amount of granulated sugar + cold pressed oil to glow from top to toe!
A personal favorite of mine would be combining equal amounts of coconut oil, brown sugar and vanilla. Massage on and wash off after a minute while in the shower. This recipe is not only fragrant and moisturizing but can double up as dessert too! Follow this step with moisturizer.
2. Exfoliate, exfoliate, and exfoliate
Exfoliation helps to remove those dead skin cells accumulated, thus developing a dull and lifeless appearance. Slough off rough patches with a scrub, even better if it’s a homemade scrub.Some simple scrubs you could make at home, super easy and economical!

3. Fake the sun-kissed look
To achieve a believable sunless tan celebrities have, applying some bronzer is the quicker and less damaging alternative to baking under the sun. For the fairer ladies, if getting darker isn’t your thing, spread a bit of body oil on the legs but careful not to grease them! Less is more, you want just enough oil for your legs to glisten.
4. Perfect a faux glow
Apply cocoa butter and petroleum jelly/baby oil all over the legs, after which, you may like to apply lotions or creams with shimmer along the shinbones up to the thighs. Blending it evenly into your skin so your skin would look healthier and less dull.5. Cover up
For a fabulous finish, spray on a coat or two of airbrush specifically for legs (available in personal care stores) to hide uneven pigmentation. To hide the obvious imperfections, dab on a water-proof and smudge-proof concealer. Blend thoroughly for perfect coverage.
You may like to use gym ball, for Swiss Ball Leg Curl to improve your hamstrings (thighs). Remember to ensure your legs are straight!
Now you are ready to hit the beach and show off those legs! Don’t forget to put on sunblock to block away those nasty UV rays.
6. Exercise
For sculpted toned legs, try to do simple exercises for at least 30 minutes daily, focusing on specific areas, such as squats.You may like to use gym ball, for Swiss Ball Leg Curl to improve your hamstrings (thighs). Remember to ensure your legs are straight!
Now you are ready to hit the beach and show off those legs! Don’t forget to put on sunblock to block away those nasty UV rays.
